  1. UX Engineer

    • Led and developed accessibility strategy across Talis, which resulted in a 90% reduction in WCAG issues across our two SaaS products.
    • Authored accessibility statement for Sage Catalyst: awarded “Gold”/100% by the textBOX Aspire initiative.
    • Designed and prototyped functionality allowing the discovery and creation of annotations for a video player: this had previously been impossible for keyboard and assistive technology users.
    • Worked directly with library, academic, and student users to resolve accessibility issues encountered while using Talis software.
    • Authored the Talis design system which ensured product, engineering, and design teams had a single reference for behaviour details and accessibility requirements.
    • Delivered education and coaching to my colleagues on design and engineering teams, helping them improve their understanding of accessibility and user-centred design.
  2. Developer

    Talis Education Ltd June 2015–May 2021, Remote
    • Designed and built a tool to consolidate theming options for 100+ institutions, resolving a number of legacy accessibility issues around colour contrast, text resizing and reflow.
    • Created a suite of Web Components to ensure design and interactions were consolidated in a single location.
    • Integrated Axe Core as part of the Continuous Integration process to reduce regressions reaching Talis customers.
